The Positive Uruguayan Law gathers practically all kinds of enterprises existing in the world, being the constitution of a new legal entity possible, as well as the opening of a branch of a foreigner company. In case of setting up a new legal entity, the kinds of societies more frequently used are: Partnership Company, Limited, Incorporated Limited Liability Company Other less used partnership companies are: Collective Societies Limited Partnership Capital and Industry Societies Society de Facto Cooperatives There can also be organized Consortiums, Groups of Economic Interest (GIE), and in the case of individual undertakes, Individual Enterprise. All the previously mentioned kinds of societies and the GIE have legal status. Consortiums and Individual undertakes lack legal status. The societies set up abroad, can celebrate isolated acts in the country and appear in court, but they must open a branch to be able to fulfill the activities .For the development of certain special activities (financial and others), society kinds with determined characteristics are required according to the current laws.
